This Date In Providence Bruins History: January 8

1994: The P-Bruins tie for the third consecutive game, settling for a 1-1 knot with Portland at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

1999: The P-Bruins delete 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to top the Rochester Americans, 4-3, at Blue Cross Arena, granting them a franchise-record eight consecutive victories.

2000: John Spoltore returns to Providence in familiar fashion with the game-winner for a 3-2 triumph over a Springfield team featuring Danny Briere, Providence coach Peter Laviolette’s future pupil with the Philadelphia Flyers.

2006: The P-Bruins extend their home winning streak to seven games by vanquishing the Binghamton Senators, 4-3, at The Dunk. Zdenek Blatny, Tyler Redenbach and Nate Robinson all pitch in two points.

2010: John Grahame returns to Providence as a visitor, starting in goal for the Adirondack Phantoms. He stops 37 out of 39 shots, but the P-Bruins muster a 3-1 victory.

2011: Nolan Schaefer stops 50 shots, including 18 apiece in both the second and third periods, to salvage a point, though the host Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins ultimately claim a 2-1 overtime victory.
