This Date In Providence Bruins History: May 9

1995: Behind an identical 1-2-3 scoring log via Grigori Panteleev and Sergei Zholtok, along with a 30-save shutout by Scott Bailey, the P-Bruins stave off elimination with a 5-0 Game 4 home victory over the Albany River Rats.

1997: Derek Herlofsky survives the better part of a 19-shot onslaught in the first period, then keeps everything out of his net for the latter 40 minutes while the P-Bruins whittle off two goals for a 2-1 win over Springfield, forcing a fifth game in the New England Division Finals. Barry Richter is credited with his third game-winning goal of the playoffs

2000: With John Grahame back in the cage after recovering from the flu, the P-Bruins convert on two power plays and pace themselves to a 4-1 win in Hartford, drawing a 1-1 knot with the Wolf Pack in the Eastern Conference Finals.
