This Date In Providence Bruins History: May 6

2000: With John Grahame sidelined due to influenza, Kay Whitmore confronts his former teammates in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The P-Bruins fall short, 2-1, to the host Hartford Wolf Pack.

2005: The host Lowell Lock Monsters pull even three times after initially trailing 2-0, 3-2 and 4-3. But on the strength of Keith Aucoin’s playmaker hat trick as well as multipoint nights for Patrice Bergeron and Brad Boyes, the P-Bruins take Game 1 of the Atlantic Division Finals, 5-4, at Tsongas Arena. Boyes sets up David Gove for the final go-ahead strike with a mere 68 seconds to spare in regulation.

2009: The Atlantic Division finals finally resume after an eight-day hiatus due to the presence of the Barnum and Bailey Circus at The Dunk and a rodeo event at the DCU Center. The P-Bruins pace themselves to a 4-2 victory in Worcester and a 2-0 advantage in the series.
