This Date In Providence Bruins History: March 19

1995: For the second time of the season, Jeff Serowik charges up two-goal game at the expense of the Worcester IceCats, whom the P-Bruins top at home, 4-3.

1996: The P-Bruins finish a five-game Maritime road trip unbeaten at 2-0-3. After three ties between Saint John and Fredericton, they win their second straight game in Cape Breton, 4-2. It proves the team’s final visit to Nova Scotia when the Oilers become the Hamilton Bulldogs.

2003: First-year head coach Mike Sullivan is elevated to Boston’s assistant position when GM Mike O’Connell takes over for the abruptly dismissed Robbie Ftorek. Sullivan coaches his final regular-season game with Providence at the Worcester Centrum, where Ivan Huml singlehandedly ties the IceCats, 2-2. Sullivan would return for the playoffs after Boston was abolished by New Jersey.

2004: Ivan Huml splashes a personal 11-game goal-scoring drought to draw first blood while linemate Brad Boyes tunes the mesh twice to beat the Springfield Falcons, 3-2, at The Dunk.

2006: For the second consecutive game, Eric Healey records three assists, although the visiting Portland Pirates reap a 6-3 victory from The Dunk.

2008: With 10 different point-getters, the P-Bruins blank the Admirals, 7-0, at the Norfolk Scope. Tuukka Rask repels 27 shots en route to his first AHL shutout.

2010: Andrew Bodnarchuk tunes the mesh twice while Cody Wild and Trent Whitfield each charge up a pair of assists to beat Lowell, 4-2.
