This Date In Providence Bruins History: March 18

2001: Ken Belanger drops the mitts with future P-Bruins captain Jeremy Reich as part of a 3-3 tie with Reich’s Syracuse Crunch at the Civic Center.

2005: The struggling Pat Leahy scores his first goal of the season for the game-winner that beats Lowell, 2-0, at The Dunk. Chris Madden repels each of the Lock Monsters’ 37 shots for his second AHL shutout.

2006: Jonathan Sigalet (two goals), Eric Nickulas (two assists), David Lundbohm (goal and two assists) and Eric Healey (goal and playmaker hat trick) pilot a 7-1 romp over Springfield at the MassMutual Center.

2007: David Krejci pilots the offense with two helpers and a goal while Hannu Toivonen’s 25 saves blank the visiting Manchester Monarchs, 5-0.

2011: With the help of 11 individual point-getters, including a goal-assist value pack for sizzling captain Trent Whitfield, the P-Bruins claim a 4-1 home win over Worcester.
