This Date In Providence Bruins History: March 2

2001: The P-Bruins pay their final visit to Lexington’s Rupp Arena, losing to the Kentucky Thoroughblades, 4-2. Providence would not face a San Jose farm team for another five years as the Thoroughblades became the Cleveland Barons the following season and later the Worcester Sharks in 2006.

2002: The Baby Bs annihilate the Houston Aeros, 6-0, salvaging a split of their two-game series at the Compaq Center and a split of their four-game season series.

2007: Two goals and two assists by David Krejci pace the P-Bruins to a 6-1 win over the Worcester Sharks at DCU Center.

2010: The P-Bruins pay their first-ever visit to the Pacific Time Zone for a two-game set with the Abbotsford Heat. Kevin Regan stops all five of the Heat’s shootout bids while Jordan Knackstedt converts for a 4-3 win.
