This Date In Providence Bruins History: March 1

1994: Sergei Zholtok pilots a chippy, fight-filled, seesaw, 5-2 victory over the Cape Breton Oilers with two goals and two helpers. The home triumph snaps a four-game winless streak for Providence, which also improves to 5-0-2 in its last seven dates at the Civic Center.

2000: The P-Bruins win their first visit to Freedom Hall, edging the Louisville Panthers, 2-1.

2002: The P-Bruins pay their first visit to Houston’s Compaq Center, where they lose to the Aeros, 5-2.

2003: Jarno Kultanen’s two goals pilot the P-Bruins to a 7-4 win at St. John’s.

2008: The P-Bruins lose their first-ever visit to Rockford, 5-1.
