This Date In Providence Bruins History: April 16

1993: Sergei Zholtok scores at 4:50 of overtime for a 3-2 win over the Indians at the Springfield Civic Center, giving the P-Bruins their first-ever playoff game victory and cutting the series deficit to 2-1.

1999: In a preview of the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs, the P-Bruins delete and surmount an initial 3-1 deficit to beat the visiting Worcester IceCats, 5-4. Randy Robitaille becomes the first Providence player to crack triple-digits in a single-season point column.

2000: After letting the visiting Quebec Citadelles delete a 5-3 deficit, the P-Bruins finish a three-game sweep of the Atlantic Division Semifinals on the strength of Jay Henderson’s game-winner midway through the third period.

2005: In their final meeting with the Worcester IceCats, who will relocate to Peoria later that summer, the P-Bruins relinquish a 5-2 decision at the DCU Center.

2008: Pascal Pelletier scores at 9:01 of overtime to take Game 1 of the Atlantic Division semifinals from Manchester, 3-2, at The Dunk.
